ENGINEERING PROJECTS AND EXPERIENCES
Computer Engineering Technology Capstone – Smart Toolbox
Collaborated on an Arduino Mega 2560 toolbox with six force sensors, keypad access, stepper-driven locks, and a 20x4 LCD tool log. Modeled the PETG enclosure in Fusion 360 and 3D printed it on a Stratasys F370; delivered the prototype for $524 of a $1,000 budget.
Networking Capstone – Midsize Enterprise Network
Collaborated on a Cisco Packet Tracer network for 1,000+ users across three campus buildings and two remote sites. Configured IPv4/IPv6 subnetting, VLANs, OSPF, HSRP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, STP, EtherChannel, and trunking for connectivity and redundancy.
Applied Embedded Systems Capstone – Automotive Body Control Module
Programmed an Arduino Uno R3 in C to coordinate vehicle lighting, turn signals, servo-driven wipers, window control, and automatic beam switching. Used millis() timing to run concurrent functions without blocking delays.
PLC Programming – Drag Race Controller, Bag Sealing, and Rail Welding
Programmed a two-player drag race simulator in Studio 5000 Structured Text with a Rockwell PLC and HMI; implemented a four-state sequence, dual start modes, independent lane timing, false-start detection, and physical I/O.
Implemented five-step bag-sealing and six-step rail-welding sequences in Logix Designer ladder logic, coordinating sensor inputs, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, timers, reset logic, and a welding-robot handshake.
Computer Aided Manufacturing – CNC Cutter Compensation
Wrote and simulated a G-code milling program in CNC Simulator Pro for four stepped steel profiles. Applied G41/G42 cutter compensation, G54 work offsets, G03 circular interpolation, and calculated spindle speed and feed rate.
